I wrote this as a status update after seeing one of my friends who purports to be a Christian liked Sarah Palin's meme that compared soldiers to McDonald's workers. As an Air Force veteran it was very upsetting that soldiers are used in memes to fight against McDonald's worker because a soldier fights for everyone, and to use them to make a political statement aggravates the shit out of me beyond belief. Soldiers are not your puppets, they fight for everyone!
Some people on my newsfeed have no compassion. The populist side of my political leanings wishes each individual had the same opportunities as I have had but alas those opportunities I had are dwindling day by day as this country becomes more focused on Ayn Rand’s philosophy outlined in The Virtue of Selfishness. Ayn Rand said that selfishness is a virtue and that virtue is becoming more abundant each day as Christ-like compassion is thrown out the door for the mutual benefit of those who shape your ideas of what a culture should look like, how economics should work and condense these ideas in readily available propaganda for your consumption. I don’t like what America is becoming. It’s a nation more self-centered than ever before, more indulgent in compassion-less escapades and less intelligent from the propaganda that people willfully integrate into their consciousness as being correct. Christians without compassion, media without integrity, billionaires waging war on classes. We’re a nation that doesn’t think critically. Many have shaped their opinions based on cultural iconoclasts and the propaganda war on the mind. You’ve been sucked into a compassion-less society where values become based on the ideologues that run counter to the very values that as a child you were raised with such as compassion, humility and courtesy towards your fellow man. I do not like what you’ve become, I do not like hostility, I do not like it one bit.
